Meet the owner

Welcome, I’m Rayne, I specialise in upcycled and bespoke furniture using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. I undertake commissions and create custom-designed pieces by giving a new lease of life to great old furniture.

Interiors and painting have always been my calling and after years working in a corporate environment, I decided to indulge my passion and hence “J’adore la Maison”!

I split my time between my home workshop where I paint and create bespoke pieces for the shop, work on customer commissions, teach Chalk Paint Workshops and source lovely new gifts and home accessories for the shop. But mostly you’ll find me in the shop helping and advising my lovely customers on how to use Chalk Paint and choosing colours.

All of of my up-cycled pieces are vintage, retro and occasionally antique. They come with a history which is reflected in their appearance and imperfections, it’s what makes them beautiful. Importantly, wherever possible I buy and use local products. I source from local independent suppliers or sustainable and Fair Trade organisations wherever possible. ​
