Use Chalk Paint® Wax to seal and protect furniture and walls painted with Chalk Paint® decorative paint. Chalk Paint® Wax emphasises depth of colour and gives a beautiful mellow finish, or can be buffed to a high sheen. It is water-repellent too, so can be used on dining room tables and kitchen cabinets.
To achieve Annie’s signature look, apply a thin coat of wax over your painted surface with a small Chalk Paint® Wax Brush. Work in small areas at a time, wiping off any excess with a clean cloth. For a distressed look, sand back to reveal a little of the wood or paint underneath before applying a second coat of wax.
Chalk Paint® Wax is not suitable for outdoor use. Use Chalk Paint® Lacquer alternatively for use outdoors. After care: wipe clean with a damp cloth. For tough marks, use a proprietary spray cleaner and rewax where necessary.
Test on a small area rst. Apply a thin coat of Clear Chalk Paint®Wax onto your painted surface, using a lint-free cloth or AnnieSloan Wax Brush. Work in small areas at a time, ‘pushing’ thewax into the paint. Remove any excess with Clear Wax and aclean cloth. White Chalk Paint®Wax can be applied directly onto painted surfaces. Apply Dark or Black Chalk Paint®Wax over wet Clear Wax. Remove any excess with Clear Wax and a clean cloth. Wax every part of your piece at least once. Two to three coats will create a wipeable nish for dining room tables and kitchen cabinets. For a high-shine nish, allow 24 hours before buf ng with a clean cloth. Treat your finished piece with extra care while the wax cures — this can take between 5 and 21 days.
To maintain your nish wash with mild soapy water and a soft damp cloth, re-wax if necessary. Chalk Paint® Wax is water repellent so can be used on kitchens, cupboards and tabletops. Apply two coats of wax. Not recommended for areas with a lot of water. Not suitable for outdoor use. Wash brushes in hot water and soap immediately after use. Results may varydepending on previous treatment of surface.
